With the news that Kendall Lamm would be the Dolphins starting LT against the Chargers, Dolphins twitter went into meltdown as fans spouted they “expert” opinions. Would Lamm be the weak link in the Dolphins line? Absolutely not.
In fact Lamm would prove to be a worthy backup to Armstead on a line allowing zero sacks against a strong Chargers defence. In case anyone needs reminding Tua Tagovailoa passed for 466 yards and 3 touchdowns behind this line, and Kendall Lamm was a key performer.
KENDALL LAMM HOLDS FIRM
Dolphins OL Coach Butch Barry had this to say about Kendall Lamm’s performances, “He’s played both left and right. He’s done a really good job. He brings his A game every day. This is his ninth season and he’s a really good pro. He understands how he has to play the game relative to his defender and the ball at all times and it shows up in his play in a consistent basis.”
With Armstead likely to return in Week 2 or 3 at the latest Lamm may well return to the sideline, but knowing he’s out there as backup should make everyone sleep a little easier. Especially QB1.
