Kansas City Chiefs (H) – Our Predictions

Here it is, the biggest game in the Miami Dolphins 2020 season, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous. The Kansas City Chiefs will visit Hard Rock Stadium for the first time since 2014. As good as the defense is, if the Fins are to win this it will be down to Tua Tagovailoa. The rookie QB had his best half of football last Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals when moving to a hurry-up offense, but you cannot do that against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Earlier today I did an opponent profile on these Kansas City Chiefs and previewed the key matchup in this game. Tyreek Hill vs our DB’s. As funny as that sounds it’s gonna take a couple of guys to slow him down. That’s only the truth. He’s put up 640 yards and 8 touchdowns in 5 games. And is only a few steps behind DK Metcalf in the receiving yards race. Xavien Howard and Byron Jones will have a busy day.

US AT AQUA THIRTEEN EVERY WEEK PUT TOGETHER OUR PREDICTIONS AHEAD OF A MATCHDAY, SO HERE ARE OUR KANSAS CITY CHIEFS @ MIAMI DOLPHINS PREDICTIONS.

Shane – Whilst the Dolphins have been able to do enough to win thanks to a defense and special teams unit in great form, coupled with a functional offense, a visit from the defending Superbowl champions will be a step up in class from anything they have faced so far. Keeping tabs on Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce would go a long way to helping the Dolphins cause but, whilst TE covering Eric Rowe and the Dolphins corners have played well this season, that’s a lot easier said than done.

Keeping Mahomes off the field will also be important and some key injuries at the RB position won’t help the Dolphins cause here, who go into the game with Washington and Laird as their only healthy RB’s. There were some positive signs from the Miami offense last time out but I just see the Chiefs having too much firepower in this one. Kansas City Chiefs 31-17 Miami Dolphins

Jay – This has the potential to be a fantastic game and I think we’re pretty well matched. Coaching is going to be pivotal on both sides of the ball. Containing Mahomes is always going to be hard but we’ve got the personnel to step up. I can’t see as much 0 blitz as we’ll need a safety to help cover the Chiefs receivers. Rowe also needs a big game covering Kelce. They don’t have the best O-Line so hopefully, our pass rush can get to Mahomes.

On the offense, Gailey needs to unleash Tua from the start. We want to see second half Tua from the Bengals game rather than first half Tua. He’s always been a big game player so open up the playbook, go up-tempo, target Parker and Gesicki, and have a more creative plan for the red zone. Gaskin is out so we’ll be reliant on Washington and Laird to take a bit of pressure off. Ultimately I think it’s a bit early in the rebuild to win this one. Chiefs win, although if it’s this close I’m taking it as a win! Kansas City Chiefs 28-24 Miami Dolphins

Rich – The key to the game today is not getting behind early. If we can make a good start, then we can play our own game. We also must improve our red zone offense from last we to stand any chance. Tua has had some big games in College and this is now by far the biggest game of his NFL career. Last week’s performance will have given Dolphins fans far more confidence in him and I think offensively we will build on last week’s solid performance, especially when upping the tempo.

Our defense vs the Chiefs offense is the matchup that will probably decide this game. Our secondary has been excellent this year but now we’re playing the best QB in the league and you have to expect that he will find a way to make a couple of big plays that will hurt us, even if we are trying to exert some pressure defensively. I just feel this game has come at least a year too early and the Chiefs might beat us by two scores. Kansas City Chiefs 28-18 Miami Dolphins

Andy – This is a free hit! Nobody expects the Fins to win this one due to the strength of the Chiefs’ offense. However, I feel we can get to the Chiefs! I think it’s unlikely but the Chiefs were poor against the run against Denver and Gaskin could have had a great game before his injury which has ruled him out. Deandre Washington is expected to fill in as the number one back. The Dolphins need the defense to be their best in order to win the game. Sadly, I think Miami will ultimately fall short in this game. Kansas City Chiefs 24-14 Miami Dolphins.

Keith – The Kansas City Chiefs are on the road once again for the third time in four weeks as they head south to Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday afternoon to take on the Dolphins. It’s going to be a tough game for the Dolphins both offensively and defensively, but if the defense can extend their 18 game league-high of at least one turnover per game then it’s possible.

Xavien Howard has 8 picks this season and will come back strong and make up for last week’s ejection and Kyle Van Noy who returned to training Friday will equal last week’s 3 sacks. This will help keep the Chiefs scoring down to a minimum and take pressure from the offense.

On offense if Tua continues to improve and is able to successfully expand on the second half of last week’s game and run a mix of no-huddle and standard offense which he has shown can be effective it could help us. The key to winning this game is the need to convert more third downs and score more TD’s when in the RedZone, and to run the clock down by utilizing the run game.

With Gaskin out (Covid list) DeAndre Washington and Malcolm Perry, who are both off the injury list will be returning to give the running game a much-needed boost. This will help reduce Patrick Mahomes time in possession to a minimum and is the key to winning the game for the Dolphins. Tua 22/30 for 320 Yrds. 2 TD’s 1 INT. Kansas City Chiefs 20-27 Miami Dolphins.
