Dolphins star WR Jaylen Waddle is in the concussion protocol after taking a vicious hit to the head in the Dolphins 24-17 win Sunday night against the Patriots.
Waddle had four catches for 86-yards on the night before leaving late in the fourth quarter. He had been slowed through camp with an oblique injury which caused the Dolphins to hold him out of all pre-season games. This latest injury will be a concern for the Dolphins whose offence is largely built around the Tua-Waddle-Hill combinations.
JAYLEN WADDLE WOULD BE A BIG MISS SUNDAY
It’s safe to say the Dolphins offence will be much weaker without Jaylen Waddle, but HC Mike McDaniel has already shown us an ability to adjust his gameplay, like running more agains the Patriots cover 3 last night, and the ability to hold players out when it is in their best interests.
McDaniel did say during his press conference that Waddle has “already started progressing” through the protocol, so while it’s still early days the signs are promising that he will play against the Broncos.
