Dolphins WR Erik Ezukanma is back on the field and desperate to prove himself as he faces a fight just to be on the roster come opening day.
“I feel like I’m a baller, honestly,” Ezukanma said. “Training camp comes, that’s when you make the team. I’m an all-around player, so versatile — being in the backfield, getting tosses, going downfield, deep shots, over the middle. Wherever you need me, I can do that.”
Dolphins have depth at WR
Is been a long time since Ezukanma pulled on a Dolphins jersey so camp is an exciting time for him, “It’s awesome,” Ezukanma said. “I’m just ready to get the pads and really show what I can do.”
While head coach Mike McDaniel has previously spoken glowingly of Ezukanma, and was finding ways to get his hands on the ball early last season before the neck injury that threatened to end his career, Miami now has more options ahead of him.
With Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle established as the 1-2, the addition of Odell Beckham Jr, leave Ezukanma at best battling for WR 4 with Braxtion Berrios. When you factor in the Dolphins selection of Malik Washington out of Virginia and Tahj Washington from USC, the size of Ezukanma’s task shouldn’t be underestimated.
