Dolphins thrash Patriots 31-17, Chiefs next

The Dolphins made light work of division rivals New England as they moved to 6-2 for the first time since 2001. Jalen Ramsey made his first appearance in a Dolphins jersey and showed exactly what Miami has been missing.

It was another slow start by the Dolphins who didn’t get on the board until 22 seconds left in the first quarter when Tua hit Hill for 42-yard score to tie the game at 7-7. But from then on it was pretty much plain sailing as the Dolphins as they put up 10 points in the second quarter, and the Patriots where never closer than 7 points the rest of the way.

RAMSEY SHINES IN DOLPHINS DEBUT

Jalen Ramsey proved why the Dolphins traded for him in the off-season, brilliantly reading Mac Jones to come off of his receiver and intercept a pass that would otherwise have been a walk-in touchdown for the Patriots to tie the game just before half time. It was something that has been sorely lacking when the Dolphins corners have been Kader Kohou and Eli Apple.

As much as Kohou is a fan favourite he simply doesn’t have the ability, instincts, or knowledge to make that play.

After the game HC Mike McDaniel said the Patriots were a stern test, “You get a great litmus test of where you’re at as a football team when you have a division game, and then on top of that you’re going overseas the next week.”

While McDaniel was generous, Patriots HC Bill Belichick was more honest about the game. “We all need to play better,” Belichick said. “We all just need to coach and play better.”

The Patriots lost star WR Kendrick Bourne for the season with a torn ACL.
