The Dolphins shrugged off the absence of MVP Candidate Tyreek Hill and thrashed the pitiful New York Jets 30-0.
It was a defensive masterclass from defensive coordinator Vic Fangio as the Dolphins took four turnovers and held the Jets to a paltry 103 yards of offence, 88 of which came on their last three drives.
DOLPHINS OFFENCE VERY STEADY
It wasn’t a day when the Dolphins needed their offense to be explosive, and all day it was steady without Hill. QB Tua Tagovailoa attempted only 5 passes over 10 yards down the field and despite throwing a 60-yard touchdown pass his average depth of target was only 4.3 yards, his worst of the season.
But this was a game to marvel at the defence was again. With performances like this, and the return of Tyreek Hill the Dolphins are definite Super Bowl contenders. Bradley Chubb has finally come into his own and added another three sacks and two forced fumbles. “I was thinking of how we were on the field last game and didn’t get the job done,” Chubb said. “My main thing is just trying to better this defense in whatever way I can.”
