Dolphins sign LB Shaquem Griffin and CB Cre’Von LeBlanc

With the NFL Training Camp almost upon us, the Dolphins added two more weapons to their defense this past Friday in LB Shaquem Griffin and CB Cre’von LeBlanc.  Both signings have been perceived well from Dolphins fans thus far and they will surely add some very solid depth to the defensive end for Miami in 2021. These moves at the same time have very well raised some eyebrows on what this possibly means going forward for the ongoing Xavien Howard predicament, which feels like is getting worse and worse every day as we approach the start of training camp.

Shaquem Griffin spent his first 3 NFL seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, while only starting in 1 of his 46 career games. His stats include 25 total tackles and 1 interception.  Coming into the league in 2018 Shaquem Griffin was known for his unfortunate amputation of his left hand that he endured at age 4.  Having dealt with that type of adversity and being in the league today is truly an inspiring story and we should be beyond stoked to see what he brings to the table for Miami’s defense in 2021.

SHAQUEM GRIFFIN AND CRE’VON LEBLANC ARE GOOD DEPTH PIECES

LeBlanc comes into the sunshine state after having last played for the Eagles since he was traded there in 2018.  Ever since going undrafted in 2016 LeBlanc has tallied 111 total tackles, and 2 interceptions in 52 career games with 4 different teams.  Obviously, there is a lot of uncertainty with Miami’s cornerback situation going into 2021 and that has a lot to do with Xavien Howard, LeBlanc will certainly have a much bigger role than originally anticipated if X’s time as a Dolphin comes to a disappointing end.

We are now less than a week away from the start of training camp and we all are wondering the same thing.  Will the X drama be over with before then? Only time is going to tell but It should be an interesting week for Miami. Regardless football is officially back, and we should be thrilled for what we are in stored for in 2021.
