The Miami Dolphins entered week 17 with a shot at the AFC’s number one seed and home field throughout the playoffs. That plan was destroyed, as were the Dolphins as Baltimore won easily 56-19.
It started so well with the Dolphins scoring on their first two drives, and three of their first four, leaving the score at 13-14. From that point on it was all the Ravens as they scored on their next three possessions to effectively end the game.
Dolphins need answers, and quickly
While Miami has been at pains to not feed the narrative that they can’t beat good teams, it continues to rear its head. Until this team finds ways to win these games, and squash those gleefully spreading it, the narrative will persist. Because it is true.
“He played a perfect football game in terms of the passing game,” Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said of QB Lamar Jackson. No one has said that of Tua Tagovailoa in a big game, in his Dolphins career. Not once.
“There’s times like this one where I would like a time machine for sure,” Miami head coach Mike McDaniel said.
The Dolphins also lost edge Bradley Chubb to a season ending ACL tear. Not much could’ve gone worse. Next week is now a must win against the Bills for the AFC East crown.
