The Dolphins moved to 2-0 after a comfortable 24-17 win over the Patriots. The Dolphins never trailed in Foxborough but it was closer than it seemed come the end as the Patriots had the ball with a chance to tie the game after another Jason Sanders miss.
It was a first half that summed up the potency of the Miami offence, scoring on three of their four possessions despite Bill Belichick playing cover 3 for nearly the entire game to keep the Dolphins big plays off the board. The Patriots offence was held in check with ease, gaining only 90 yards through the first half.
DOLPHINS BOG DOWN IN THE SECOND HALF
The second half gave a minor scare as the offence was held to a single score, in part courtesy of Jason Sanders having one field goal blocked and missing a potential clincher late on. But the Patriots were never closer than 7-points and the Dolphins will head back to Miami for their season home-opener next Sunday against the Broncos at a perfect 2-0.
