The Dolphins moved to 7-3 cementing their place atop the AFC East with a 20-13 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.
It wasn’t the explosive, smooth sailing game that was expected, with the Dolphins coming in as a 13.5 point favourite over the Raiders. Miami fumbled away their first possession before Tyreek Hill exploded across the field for a 38-yard score.
On their next possession the Dolphins bizarrely decided to throw on 4th and 1 from the Raiders 3 yard line. The play was blown up, but the Dolphins D held for a three and out and Miami would score again on their next possession. It was to prove Miami’s last touchdown of the day.
DOLPHINS OFFENCE HELD TO FIELD GOALS SECOND HALF
The Dolphins could only manage two field goals in the second half, but the defence was the star of the show blanking Las Vegas and taking three interceptions.
It was a defensive masterclass from defensive coordinator Vic Fangio‘s unit as the hassled and harried Aidan O’Connell all day, and Jalen Ramsey marked his second home game with another two interceptions the second of which sealed the game in the Dolphins end zone with 25 seconds to play.
” I do feel great, I’ve put in a lot of hard work,” Ramsey said. “At the same time, the only way to get ready for football and be really in football shape and feel like the guy that I am is to play more football, and this is only my third game. Technically, I’m just now in my training camp, preseason, really.”
