After being injured in a horrific collision last night Dolphins rookie WR Daewood Davis has been released from hospital the Miami Dolphins have confirmed via their twitter account.

Davis was signed as an undrafted free-agent by the Dolphins out of Western Kentucky.

In his four years in college Daewood Davis amassed 1,739 yards and 16 touchdowns.

The game was called off after the injury to Davis. In his post-game presser HC Mike McDaniel had this to say: ““The collection of the two NFLPA representatives (Christian Wilkins and Brandon McManus, Doug Pederson) and myself made the right call, in that, the two teams agreed that football shouldn’t be played anymore tonight. Without a shadow of a doubt, I know that was the right call, so I’m proud of the collective group for doing the right thing. Our guys are hurting but relieved.”

DAEWOOD DAVIS HAS A SHOT AT THE PRACTICE SQUAD IN A DEEP WR ROOM

The Draft Network said this of Davis prior to the draft “Davis is a big-play wide receiver that can effectively stretch the field. His speed is instant and sudden—he can reach top speed fairly quickly. That speed puts defensive backs in conflict with their coverage drops. Davis has good breaks to stop at the top of his vertical stem on routes working back to the QB. As a route-runner, Davis does a good job angling his route stem to attack and win the leverage battle. He offers versatility as a run threat on reverses and pop passes. Davis finds and settles in the soft spots of zone coverage. There is upside as a run after the catch option.”
