Dolphins Week 5 Injury Report

With a home game upcoming against the defending NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers, the Dolphins week 5 injury report is a refreshingly short, and positive one. There are, however, some big names who were limited in practice.

Byron Jones continues to be limited in practice after injuring his groin on the third play against Buffalo. This is a step in the right direction for Jones however as he has been practicing since Saturday, albeit in a limited capacity.

Rookie guard Solomon Kindley who appeared on the injury report late last week is still limited with a foot injury, although he seems likely to be good to go on Sunday. Fellow rookie lineman Austin Jackson is a serious doubt, however. Having left the game on Sunday with a foot injury he was held out of practice entirely. Julién Davenport subbed for the injured Jackson against the Seahawks and held up well, but the Dolphins will be hoping Jackson can recover in time.

DeVante Parker also left the game on Sunday with an ankle injury in the first quarter. He returned to the game though, and produced another stellar performance to further cement himself as the Dolphins primary weapon on offense. Expectations are that he will play Sunday.

Shaq Lawson also did not practice which will be a worry for a Dolphins team that has struggled to get any consistent pressure on quarterbacks this season.

Xavien Howard returned to full training after a minor scare with his knee last week.

The 49ers have been decimated by injuries this season with 11 players currently on IR including Nick Bosa, Jalen Hurd, Tevin Coleman, Dee Ford, and Richard Sherman. They will have been boosted, however, by the return to practice of starting QB Jimmy Garoppolo and starting HB Raheem Mostert.

Having benched backup Nick Mullens in the second half of last weeks loss to the Eagles, the 49ers would love to be able to suit up Garoppolo for the game. Stay tuned for further updates throughout the week.
