Assessing The Miami Dolphins’ Run-In

The Miami Dolphins face the Kansas City Chiefs tomorrow. With a crucial run of fixtures ahead, can the Dolphins get the wins they need in their final push for the playoffs?

If the playoffs were to start tomorrow, the Dolphins would be the sixth seed, with a current 8-4 record.

Their final four games are crucial. The Chiefs game is a free hit, as they are going into the game as underdogs.

The final three games for the Dolphins are the crucial ones. Let’s take a look at how these games may play out.

Week 15 Miami Dolphins vs the New England Patriots

Week 15 sees Miami face off against the New England Patriots. The Patriots could see AFC East championship hopes officially ended, should the Buffalo Bills beat the Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend.

New England will still have slim playoff hopes, which makes this game all the more interesting.

Even if they cannot mathematically make the playoffs by the time the week 15 clash takes place, they will want to put a dent in Miami’s playoff hopes. The Miami Dolphins beat the Patriots last season to force New England to play in the wildcard round. Bill Belichick will want to give Miami a taste of their own medicine.

Week 16 vs the Las Vegas Raiders

The most crucial game could be in week 16 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Raiders are just one win behind Miami and will hope that New England and Kansas City can do them a favour.

Both the Miami Dolphins and Raiders have had struggles in recent years. They will both be desperate to reach the playoffs, as they hope to bring the good times back.

Both teams play tough and a this has every potential of a gritty game, similarly to the Dolphins’ game against the Bengals last weekend.

Week 17 vs the Buffalo Bills

The Bills still have to play the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Patriots. These are two games that could trip up the Bills.

The Dolphins and Bills could be set for a rivalry we have not seen since the Dan Marino vs Jim Kelly days. The Bills and Miami Dolphins could be on the same amount of wins as each other in week 17, which would set up an exciting last day.

The AFC East would be on the line, which will give an edge to this game.

Overall, the Miami Dolphins have a tough run-in, arguably one of the hardest remaining schedules of the teams around them in the playoff hunt.

The Chiefs game is most likely to be a loss but I feel that the Dolphins can get to the Patriots offense and Raiders quarterback Derek Carr.

The Bills game is a tricky one as they have been a better overall team than Miami this season. Buffalo may already have the division wrapped up, which could see rotation by head coach Sean McDermott.

This would be a helping hand to head coach Brian Flores and his young Miami team.

I feel that Miami will go 2-2 in their final four games. This would see Miami end the season 10-6.

This normally sees teams make the playoffs and this would, in my opinion, be the same for the Dolphins.
