The Miami Dolphins are hoping to avoid their seventh consecutive loss Sunday when they face the 4-2 Buffalo Bills Sunday. The Bills are coming off a loss that was a result of 4 rushing touchdowns by the Tennessee Titans. However, despite that Buffalo has struggled at times stopping the run throughout the season, Miami has had trouble getting the run game going. With Malcom Brown out, it will be up to Myles Gaskin, Salvon Ahmed, and newly acquired Duke Johnson to showcase Miami’s run game against the Bills run defense.

Coming off of two of his better performances of his young career, Tua Tagovailoa will be under center again this Sunday. After the loss, Tagovailoa was at the center of a heavily discussed trade rumor that involved the Houston Texans and Deshaun Watson. Head Coach, Brian Flores seemed to put the rumor to rest Friday by saying that Tua is the Miami Dolphins quarterback the rest of the season barring any type of injury. It will be up to Tua this Sunday to silence the naysayers that would rather have Deshaun Watson in a Miami uniform than Tua.

Tua Tagovailoa has only started 13 games in his career, but has only played 10 full games. If it is any solace, out of Tagovailoa’s 10 complete games played in his career, 6 of those games posted 248 yards, 2 tds, 296/1, 316/2, 361/1, 329/2, and 291 yards, 4 touchdowns. If you do the math, those 6 games gave Tua 1,841 yards and 12 touchdowns. Despite the critics, Tagovailoa has proved that he can put up the NFL caliber numbers. If he puts up another 300 yard game against the Bills, the outside noise should begin to not come as often.

Mike Gesicki leads the Dolphins with 427 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jaylen Waddle has 384 yards with 3 touchdowns.

Tagovailoa will be matched up against the best quarterback in the AFC East, Josh Allen. With 15 touchdown passes, Allen ranks in the top ten in the NFL with the most touchdowns for the season. Stefon Diggs leads the Bills with 463 yards and 2 touchdowns.

If Josh Allen is going to be slowed, Xavien Howard is still the best option as he intercepted Allen during the last Bills/Dolphins matchup.

The Dolphins have not won a game against the Bills since 2018. If they are going to stop the losing streak, they will have to do it against a team that they have struggled with for years. They will also have to do it against a fresh Buffalo Bills team that is coming off a bye week.

Tua Tagovailoa will face the team that had the strong pass rush that caused him to get fractured ribs. If Miami’s offensive line can protect their quarterback, then Tua will be able to move the ball down the field. If he can move the ball down the field and avoid the interception mistakes, there is always a chance that the Dolphins will be able to score.

Game day is this Sunday in Highmark Stadium.
